How to Review Filing Submission Files
Available for submissions for TY26 filings and forward, Taxbit’s IRIS submission file review is available to download and inspect the XML transmission file generated for filing of any forms before filing approval. The file represents the submission artifact prepared for the applicable form type, tax year, and jurisdiction, giving you greater visibility into what will be submitted through the filing workflow.
Reviewing the file can help you complete internal quality checks, reconcile the submission to your expected filing population, and retain a copy for your organization’s records or audit processes. It also gives you direct access to the file without needing to request it from Taxbit’s support or implementation teams.
The review process is read-only and does not submit or re-file anything. When you are ready to submit, use the approval action in the Taxbit Dashboard.
Important notes:
- Make sure the forms for the filing have been generated.
- Confirm that you have access to the Filing page and permission to review filing files.
- Review is optional. You can approve the filing without downloading the submission file.
- The downloaded file is the XML transmission artifact generated for the filing with testing indicators and is not submittable as downloaded.
- Downloading the file is read-only. It does not change the filing status, consume a filing event, or submit the filing again.
- The downloaded file represents the artifact that Taxbit transmits for the filing.
Please note: Currently, this functionality is only available for US tax forms.
