How to Approve Forms for Filing
Please see the steps outlined below to approve and file your generated forms with the IRS and any associated state, as well as generate XML and CSV files to file for MRDP reporting:
US Filings
If forms are ready to be filed, they will reflect on the Filing page with a "Needs Approval" status. A Tax Manager must approve the filing themselves. To approve filing forms for Federal and State, please follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Select the “Filing” page from the left navigation under “Information Reporting”.
Step 2: Select the corresponding year from the drop-down menu on the top right.
Step 3: Select the drop-down arrow on the right side of the corresponding form.
Please note: Only form types with at least 1 generated form will reflect on the Filing page.
Step 4: Select “Approve Filing”.

Step 5: The approval confirmation window will specify how many originals, corrections, and voids are included for this filing. Select “Approve” when ready.

After approval, the page will display who approved the filing and when.

MRDP Filings
If forms are ready to be filed, they will reflect on the Filing page with a "Needs Approval" status under their associated “Member State”. A Tax Manager must approve the filing themselves to generate an XML and CSV file.
For filing MRDP forms, please follow the steps 1- 4 listed above for US Filings. Once you have approved filing, an XML and CSV file will be generated for review. Once ready, organizations are responsible for submitting and filing the generated MRDP XML/CSV files to the appropriate jurisdictions unless direct filing services have been arranged with Taxbit.
