Overview
The B-Notice Details drawer gives you a detailed view of a single B-Notice record within the B-Notice page. It is intended to help you review the account information associated with the notice, understand the current B-Notice status and type, and confirm the record details before taking follow-up action.
A B-Notice, also called a backup withholding notice, is associated with an IRS CP2100 or CP2100A notice. These notices identify name and taxpayer identification number (TIN) information that did not match IRS records on a filed information return. For more information, please refer to the following guide: B-Notice Page
Locating the B-Notice Details Drawer
To open the B-Notice Details drawer, select the “View Details” eye icon on the right side of an individual row in the B-Notice table. Each row represents a B-Notice record for the selected tax year.

Once the row is selected, the drawer opens on the right and displays additional record-level details.

What You Can Review in the Drawer
The B-Notice Details drawer includes the following information for the selected record.
Action Limitations and Important Notes
Please note:
- A Tax Manager has access to the B-Notice workflow, including file uploads, record review, TIN reveal when permitted, exports, and manual resolution.
- A Support User has read-only access. Support Users can view B-Notice records and download available reports and exports, but cannot upload files, reveal TINs, or resolve notices.
- Please reach out to your account team if you have questions about access, file processing, or the B-Notice workflow.
