From the User Management page, you can invite new users, remove users, and update roles.

Roles

The Taxbit Dashboard has Role-Based Access Controls. The role that the user is assigned will determine what they have access to within the Dashboard. Please see the table below for reference to available roles and their associated permissions:

Supported Login Methods

The Taxbit Dashboard supports the following login methods:

Username and Password

Users receive an invitation from a User Admin and complete onboarding to set up their Dashboard access and to log in via Username and Password.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

Organizations can configure SSO through an identity provider using SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), or ADFS.

Taxbit supports just-in-time (JIT) provisioning and role-based access mapping through SAML-based SSO. When configured, the identity provider sends user attributes such as name, email address, and role or group information to Taxbit.

Taxbit does not currently support full SCIM provisioning. For JIT-enabled organizations, access is managed through identity-provider group membership and role mapping. Removing a user from the mapped groups blocks access at the user’s next SSO login. For other SSO users, User Admins manage access from the User Management page.

To configure SSO or JIT provisioning, contact your Taxbit implementation or CX representative.

How to Use the User Management Page

Please note: Only users with the User Admin role can access User Management.

To access the User Management Page, 1) select the organization drop-down from the top right, 2) select “Settings, 3) then select “User Management”.

Once on the User Management page, you will see a table of all of the users who have successfully onboarded into this specific organization, their email addresses, and their assigned roles.

Inviting New Users

To invite a new user, please follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Select the “Invite User” button from the top right, and the following modal will appear.

Step 2: Input the email of the user you wish to invite, and select the role you want them to have.

Please note: Multiple roles can be applied if needed. As more functionality is added, this will allow for more granular access control, such as where a user could have access to the full platform, but still not be able to view full TINs. Separately, inviting users by an email alias is currently not supported. For example, if a user is officially john.doe@example.com in your Identity Provider, but also uses an alias of john@example.com, the invitation will only work if sent to the official email of record in your IDP.

Once the invite is sent, the invited user can expect to find an invite from Taxbit via email with instructions to complete their onboarding to that organization. Once the user accepts the invitation and completes onboarding, they will be in the Dashboard and ready to explore.

Please note: Invites typically expire after 2 weeks. If the user does not receive the invitation via email or the invitation has expired, your User Admin can resend it directly from the User Management Page in the Dashboard, following the steps outlined above. If needed, please contact our CX team to check for and cancel any pending invitations.

Editing Existing Users

Step 1: From the User Management page, select the Edit icon to the right of the specific user.

Step 2: The “Edit User” modal will appear, and you will now be able to remove, add, or change the role of the user.

Step 3: Finally, select “Save User” from the bottom.

Removing Users

Step 1: From the User Management page, select the Delete icon to the right of the specific user.

Step 2: The Confirm Delete modal will appear. Select “Delete” to remove access to the Dashboard for the selected user.

Please note: If you need to add or remove users from multiple tenants at the same time or add multiple users at a time to any tenant, please contact Customer Support for assistance via the following request submission form. Please include the email of the user that needs to be updated, as well as the list of tenants if not all tenants: Online Submission Form
